How great an idea is that?! Have the Feds and the states pay tax refunds in your choice of lottery tickets or gaming chips. That would give us all hope for the future! We appear to have zero chance of improving our stations in life as it is, so why not just get it over with and gamble away our tax refunds the same way Federal and state governments have already gambled away everything else we’ve paid out to rescue their partners on Wall Street and Corporate America? It only makes sense.
Why not continue running things in the same clear, consistent manner as always? They dole out American Taxpayer monies to the people who deserve them the least: Too Big Too Fail Corporate America. Maybe just removing the veil of secrecy and allowing an open gambling-only economy would be the wisest and most compassionate way to assure the citizens of this once-great Nation that, yes, we’re just one gigantic casino.
I like this idea. No more smoke and mirrors. Just pure unadulterated gambling for one and all. Las Vegas and Atlantic City might would certainly like this plan, and state-run Native American casinos surely wouldn’t be too chapped over it. There’s darn near one in every neighborhood by now. “America: It’s all about the jackpot!”
Gambling is as American as apple pie and debt. If the federal and state governments were to adopt an out-in-the-open casino mentality, at least we would know what we’ve already known: the House always wins. Only this time, a few of us would be the benefactors. Of course, that doesn’t speak well for the masses, but since when did they matter anyway?
Gambling could become the ultimate family experience. Talk about quality time. And of course, there’d be new jobs aplenty created in the gaming industry. What’s not to like in this bold new American Adventure? I’m all-in!
